Unlike other cities a majority of the crypto ATMs in New York city are buy only, you can’t sell cryptocurrencies at them, and they only support Bitcoin. Perhaps this is due to New York’s onerous financial regulations.
The typical commission fees is about 12%, however, there are a couple of exceptions. Almost all of the ATMs are located in Manhattan, especially upper Manhattan, with just a couple located in Queens, Brooklyn, the Bronx and New Jersey.
The first ATM on our list is by far the best as it supports a number of coins and has a lower trading fee than many of the other ATMs.
Located in the Bronx, at 904 Morris Ave, the Orion Electronic Crypto ATM is one of the best in New York. Their exchange fee, compared to other ATMs, is very reasonable. They charge a 3% commission for buying and a 10% selling commission.
This is the same commission for all currencies. The ATM supports Bitcoin, Ether, Litecoin, DASH and ZCASH. The ATM is open Monday to Saturday from 10:00 am to 9:00 pm. On Sunday it’s open from 10:00 am to 7:00 pm.
Verification is easy. For any order from $20 to $1,000, the buyer only has to provide a phone number to receive a SMS message on. For orders between $1,000 and $3,000, a KYC verification is necessary.
This crypto ATM charges between 8 and 15% on all purchases. Users only have the choice of buying Bitcoin, other cryptocurrencies are not available.
The ATM is open 24/7 and is located at 447 Willis Ave in the Bronx. Being open around the clock is good for convenience but their commission is rather high. Users cannot sell crypto here, only buy.
This is one of the only crypto ATMs located in Brooklyn. It’s located at 292 Nostrand Ave, near Clinton Hill. The ATM is open Monday to Sunday from 6:00 am to 2:00 am.
Users can buy up to $3,000 per day worth of Bitcoin, however, Bitcoin cannot be sold. There is an 8 to 15% commission on all purchases.
The G&G crypto ATM is conveniently located in Midtown Manhattan, just several blocks from Columbus circle. That makes it an easy five or ten minute walk from half a dozen subway stations as well as Central Park. It’s located at 886 10th Ave.
This ATM offers a buy service for Bitcoin only and charges an unknown commission. There is a daily $5,000 limit which is presumably enforced by some sort of KYC verification. The ATM is open 24/7.
Located in Harlem, at 2350 Frederick Douglass Blvd, this New York crypto ATM is in a convenient location for anyone living uptown. The ATM is located within blocks of several major trains and it’s open Monday to Sunday from 6:00 am to 3:00 am.
Following a similar pricing scheme as many other crypto ATMs in New York, this ATM charges an 8 to 15% commission on all purchases. It’s not possible to sell crypto here, only buy it.
The Best Way crypto ATM is open 24/7 although it’s only possible to buy Bitcoin here. The ATM does not support any other cryptocurrencies nor does it support the selling of Bitcoin. There is a $5,000 daily purchase limit per person.
This ATM is located uptown, at 1465 Amsterdam Ave, close by to Columbia University. Presumably it gets a lot of its traffic from the school. The exchange fees for the ATM are unknown.
The Smoke Shop & Grocery ATM is one of the few crypto ATMs in Queens. Located in Astoria, at 31-3 21st Ave, the ATM is close to the N & W trains making it easy to reach, even for crypto enthusiasts in Manhattan who might find it closer than going to Harlem or the Bronx.
Like most crypto ATMs in New York, this one is only good for buying Bitcoin. The commission fee is unknown, however, there is a $5,000 daily limit on purchases.
